The inaugural Phoenix Corporate Games brings together sports organizations, local businesses, community leaders and companies from across the region in a way that goes beyond the traditional business setting. That experience starts prior to event day as participants compete in pre-Games challenges. Designed to grow into an annual tradition, the Phoenix Corporate Games will create a shared experience that businesses and employees can look forward to each year.
“The Phoenix Corporate Games represents more than economic impact and hotel room nights,” stated Joel Koester, Executive Director of Sports & Events at Visit Phoenix. “While attracting visitors and generating tourism benefits remain an important part of what we do, this event is about bringing our community together through friendly competition, encouraging healthy and active lifestyles and strengthening connections across Greater Phoenix's businesses and workforce.”
Featuring a variety of team athletic competitions, Phoenix Corporate Games includes games such as tug-of-war, cornhole, dodgeball, wiffle ball home run derby, basketball shooting contest, soccer shootout, street hockey shootout and running, alongside wellness-focused events, such as yoga and walking. All teams will be provided lunch and a tent to enjoy as their own team headquarters. Outside of the team activities, the event features live music, food, games and entertainment for participants, friends, co-workers and family to enjoy and round out the experience.
“With the Phoenix Corporate Games, we are creating a fun, festive environment for organizations to come together and exhibit teamwork and company pride,” stated Fiesta Sports Foundation Executive Director & CEO Erik Moses in the news release. “This event promotes employee engagement, wellness and camaraderie in a way that has not been delivered here in Arizona. We incorporated a charitable giving component that makes positive impact in our community, consistent with how Fiesta Sports Foundation serves every day.”
