Florence is taking the next step in growing its economy by hiring its first economic development director.
Florence’s new economic development director is Elan Vallender, who prior to coming to Florence served as the senior economic development specialist for Apache Junction. The position was created as part of the town’s annual budget process this summer.
“Due to strategic investments in infrastructure, communicating and collaborating with various stakeholders working in synergy to add, revise and update codes and policies to ensure best and up-to-date practices, and streamline processes, we are ready to move into the next phase, which is hiring an economic development director,” stated Florence Mayor Tara Walter.
