Another direct flight between Phoenix and Asia began this week, with STARLUX Airlines launching a flight between Taipei, Taiwan, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Thursday.
The route on the Taiwanese-owned airline will operate three weekly departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with a fourth Saturday departure planned to be added in March.
One key customer base will be connected to the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. plant in north Phoenix, which plans to employ about 6,000 workers when fully built out. Many of those workers are from Taiwan.
