Fire & Fairways Golf Tournament benefits Arizonans for Children

Posted

Kasai Japanese Steakhouse held the second annual Fire & Fairways Tournament on June 5 in Scottsdale where 140 players competed for prizes while supporting Arizonans for Children, a non-profit helping Arizona’s neglected, abused, and abandoned children since 2002.

The tournament raised more than $34,000, which will go to the organization to increase their foster support programs, according to a press release. Part of those funds were raised at Kasai’s post tournament luncheon where almost 250 people gathered after the tournament to celebrate with the food, fire, and fun of Kasai. They also won raffles and bid on silent auction items.

“We want to thank the community for participating in the Fire & Fairways tournament. The support means so much to us,” Kasai owner Mike Russello said in the release. “We honor the families who have supported local foster children to provide a healthy environment for learning and growing.”

On July 6, Mike Russello and others from Kasai Japanese Steakhouse presented a check for $34,226 to Arizonans for Children. The non-profit will use the funds to continue serving Arizona’s foster children through its programming that supports foster families.

“Arizonans for Children is so grateful to Kasai Japanese Steakhouse and the community for their continued support of our mission,” Arizonans for Children’s mentor program supervisor Monique Quinones said in the release. “We rely on the generous giving from both individuals and local businesses like Kasai to continue serving foster children in our community. We are excited for the opportunity to expand our programs and reach even more foster youth across the Valley.”

The third annual Fire & Fairways tournament will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club. The charity golf tournament will utilize both the Pine and Palm courses for up to 288 players.
