Fire district medics training with Apache Junction police SWAT team

Volunteer off-duty medics who have trained with Apache Junction Police Department’s special weapons and tactics team should be allowed to carry weapons for protection, according to fire district officials.

Superstition Fire and Medical District and city employees have been meeting to iron out an agreement where the medics can work with SWAT at local call-outs.
