Finance reports show small, large donations in East Valley mayor's race

The only two candidates on the July 21 ballot for Chandler mayor were Jeff Weninger, left, and Matt Orlando, who took Chandler Chamber of Commerce debate questions April 28. Orlando, who won the race, didn't have as much cash on hand at the start of the second quarter as his opponent, but took in about the same amount in contributions as Weninger.

When the second quarter of 2026 ended on June 30, early ballots had already been mailed out to Arizona voters.

But the two Chandler mayoral candidates were still adding up receipts and expenditures for their campaigns in advance of the July 21 primary election.

By the time all reports were turned in — at or close to the July 15 state deadline — data showed the two candidates ended up getting contributions from a diverse group of sources.
