Fighting for the cure: Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona fueled by local philanthropy

The Charro Foundation offers grant subsidizing ‘Camp Candlelight’

Mysterious electric misfires happening in one’s brain is the best guess brilliant minds of the medical community can offer in explanation of the neurological condition commonly known as epilepsy.

But since the early 1970s, the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona has been committed to serving those afflicted with the syndrome, shepherding community awareness and above all else helping to find families answers.

“Since 1973, the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona has been dedicated to the welfare of people with epilepsy,” said Allie Anderson, executive director of community engagement and partnership. “The foundation has developed public education programs that foster community awareness to improve the health care, and have made community support programs available to all persons affected by epilepsy free of charge.”
