Fighting for a seat: Arizona’s 8th Congressional District is drawing potential candidates from near and far

Rep. Debbie Lesko’s decision not to seek reelection has given birth to a long list of Republicans who have their sights set on replacing her as the Congressional District 8 representative.

But some of those candidates don’t live in the district, which covers portions of the north and West Valley including Sun City, Sun City West, Peoria, Glendale and Phoenix.

There is no residential requirement to run in this election, which has led some with eyes on the seat calling foul, not to mention residents who live in the district feeling they could be unrepresented.
