INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
Phoenix police were continuing to investigate Sunday after a fetus was found dead Saturday morning on a city street.
Officers responded to a call about 1 a.m. Nov. 12 from someone who indicated a child was in the street in the 1100 block of West Madison.
A fetus was found burned and pronounced dead, according to authorities. They said the fetus had an estimated gestational age of between 20 and 24 weeks.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office took custody of the fetus, and a postmortem examination is pending, police said.
