Federal grant money will replace Glendale’s ‘aging’ public bus fleet

The city of Glendale, through an intergovernmental agreement with Phoenix, will make Federal Transit Administration grants available to, among other things, replace the transportation department’s “aging GUS fleet.”

At its Tuesday night meeting, the Glendale council approved the agreement with Phoenix that provides reimbursement toward operating expenses and capital purchases. The city of Phoenix is the designated recipient for all federal funds in the region.

The total amount of federal funds available in the intergovernmental agreement is $591,722, with an expiration date of Dec. 31, 2025.
