The Blues Bandit robbed a Surprise bank in January, and the FBI seeks his whereabouts after another incident on Thursday in Phoenix.
On Jan. 30 at about 6:50 p.m., a male suspect entered Walmart, 13770 W. Bell Road in Surprise and went to the Desert Schools Federal Credit Union branch inside. According to the FBI, he waited in the customer line and was called to the teller counter where he displayed a robbery demand note and threatened with a gun.
He was described as a white or Hispanic male, in his early 30’s, 5 feet 8 inches, with dark hair and a large hole in his right ear.
He was wearing a dark fedora hat, prescription glasses, a dark suit coat, dark shirt and tie and black leather gloves.
The so-called Blues Bandit has robbed five Desert School branches in the Valley, all inside a Walmart.
His most recent crime occurred March 2 at a U.S. Bank branch inside an Albertson’s store in north Phoenix.
Contact the Phoenix FBI Office at 623-466-1999 if you have information regarding this robbery series.
Desert Schools is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
