FBI: Peoria sees uptick in violent crime

Violent crimes went up slightly in Peoria from 2018 to 2019, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Uniform Crime Reporting program, which produces an annual report compiling data from local and state police agencies.

Law enforcement agencies consider murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault “violent crimes.”

Those crimes went up about 5%, from 388 crimes in 2018 and 407 in 2019.
