Father in jail after toddler found shot
A toddler was injured after an accidental shooting at a Phoenix home, police said.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested and booked on a child abuse charge after his child was found with a gunshot wound in an accidental shooting, Phoenix police said.
Officers responded about 10:40 p.m. July 9 to a home near 84th Avenue and Campbell Road regarding a toddler having been shot. When officers arrived, they found the child with a gunshot wound. The toddler was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
Detectives who responded reported their investigation revealed the toddler found the gun in the home and accidently fired it. The family at the home was interviewed, and authorities learned the father of the toddler, 27-year-old Oscar Guerra, “left the gun out and accessible to the victim prior to the accidental shooting,” the release stated.
