Farmer’s market set to open Oct. 7 in South Chandler

The Greenhouse Gardens farmer’s market marks its eighth season and will be open for business Saturday, Oct 7.

Greenhouse Gardens is a 4-acre farm at 13103 E. Chandler Heights Road, between Gilbert and Cooper roads. The urban farm and farmer’s market typically offers seasonal vegetables, herbs, fruit and specialty produce, grown without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers, Saturdays, from 9 a..m. to noon, October through July.

The market features an ever-changing array of fresh root vegetables, leafy greens, squash and peppers. Owned and operated by Jeannine and Cameron McChesney, and is the property is the site of the original Riggs Family Homestead, started in 1948.

The barn, built by Lyle Riggs in 1950, displays numerous historical family items and is the site of the Greenhouse Gardens seasonal farm-to-table dinners.
