Theresa Bartholomew and Rachel Mangum were already Lego fans when they took their sons across town to a Bricks & Minifigs store in Avondale for the first time in February 2020.
“We walked in, our eyes got big, we thought, ‘This place is amazing. We are going to come here all the time,’” Bartholomew said. “And then the pandemic started immediately after that.”
As teachers in the Apache Junction Unified School District, the couple found themselves stuck at home with the two boys while campuses were closed. They filled much of that time with those little plastic construction blocks.
