‘Family’ racing season returning to Canyon Speedway

North Peoria oval running winter practice, with points season coming up

Once considered an out-of-the-way place to race, the north reaches of the Valley have finally come to Canyon Speedway Park in north Peoria.

Okay, it’s still pretty out of the way.

It has its primitive roads out there on its own at the outlier intersection of Lake Pleasant Parkway and Old Carefree Highway, and that’s just the way those who play in the dirt like it.
