Phoenix police detectives are investigating a family fight on Sunday that turned deadly.

Officers responded about 12:10 a.m. Sept. 1 to a shooting call near 2400 West Voltaire Avenue where they found Darius Anthony Rain, 28, with a gunshot wound to the head. He died at a hospital.

The suspect surrendered, was detained and told officers he had shot the victim, according to a release from the Phoenix Police Department.

Charges will be submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review, police said.
