Eyesore set for destruction in Old Town Peoria

City has plans to raze shuttered car wash

A self-serve car wash that has been sitting shuttered for years in Old Town Peoria is about to be razed.

The city council approved $70,000 from reserves for the demolition, which includes hazardous material testing and abatement.

The car wash is located on just under a half-acre at the southeast corner of 85th Avenue and Washington Street.
