Despite the hardships imposed by the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis, some experts believe the Arizona economy may recover at a faster pace than in other parts of the country in 2021.
While uncertainty over the plan and pace of vaccine distribution has compounded an already complicated outlook for the coming year, economic analysts suggest the Copper State will recover faster than many others.
Researchers at the University of Arizona reported in early December on their analysis and outlook for the new year, determining that despite some key challenges, the Arizona economy is poised for at least a partial comeback due, in part, to the injection of federal CARES Act funding, which boosted revenue during the second half of last year.
