Eviction filings hit all-time high

Population and economic factors have contributed to the busiest month for evictions in Maricopa County on record, according to Scott Davis, spokesman for the Maricopa County Justice Courts.

In October, landlords brought 7,948 eviction complaints to Maricopa County’s 26 court precincts — 46 more than the previous record set in fall 2005, Davis said.

In 2022, there were a total of 67,491 eviction filings. That year, there were 22,252 evictions in Maricopa County.
