Eviction filing numbers swell

Maricopa County saw its busiest December ever for eviction filings in 2024.

Scott Davis, spokesman at the Maricopa County Justice Courts, said the courts saw 7,339 eviction filings in its caseload last month and officials witnessed the total number of 2024 eviction filings break all-time records.

In 2024, 87,197 eviction filings was enough to break the previous record set in 2005, Davis said.
