Everett F. Heer, died on 11/16/18 in Surprise, AZ at age 89. Born on 8/19/29 in New York, NY he grew up in Yonkers, NY and after being married lived in Port Chester, NY, Brockton, MA and again in Port Chester, NY. Upon retirement in 1991, moved to Franklin, NC and then in 2002 settled in Surprise, AZ. Everett worked at the YMCA for over 20 years and then made a career change to work at the West Point Military Academy as a civilian employee. He worked there until his retirement. He had a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Social Work from Springfield College in Springfield, MA. Between college degrees Everett served in the US Army in Korea. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and a United Nations Service Medal. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie B. Heer; his son, Gordon B. Heer; two grandchildren, Marissa Jane Lyman and Jared Michael Treanor; and one great-granddaughter, Harper Ann Lyman. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sheryl Ann Treanor. There will be a Memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday November 28th, 2018 at New Song United Methodist Church in Surprise, AZ.
