SUN CITY WEST - Eugene J. Bonk, age 81 of Sun City West, died Dec. 17, 2010. Mr. Bonk was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., and moved to Arizona in 1990 from Livonia, Mich., with his beloved wife Elsie who preceded him in death. He had been employed in the grocery store business starting at the age of 14 working for CF Smith Company, becoming a manager at 19 years old and continued his career with Borman Foods/Farmer Jacks until he retired in 1986. He was a member of SCW Bowlers Assoc., involved in many leagues over the past 20 years as well as being a volunteer for no tap bowling. He also enjoyed hanging out at the bowling alley and encouraging his friends as they looked to him for his light-hearted bowling "tips." Mr. Bonk is survived by his two children, a son Gene Bonk, and daughter-in-law Carolyn from Escondido, Calif.; a daughter, Debi Havens from St. Pete Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Carl Bonk of Cleveland, Ohio, and Tom Bonk of London, Ky.; and one sister, Eleanor Osier of Detroit, Mich. Mr. Bonk had three grandchildren, Tim Havens of La Porte, Ind., Krysti Jonas (Alex) of La Porte Ind., and Andy Bonk of Escondido, Calif. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 102 W.
