Erwin D. Long, long time 45 years resident of Sun City, formally of Milwaukee, WI. passed away on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at age 100. Beloved husband for 64 years of the late Barbara (nee Luczywko). Loving father of Gregory (Diane) Long and Gerilynn (Franklin) Connors. Cherished Grandfather of Carolyn (Anthony) Gatton, Kimberly Long, Shannon Connors and Danielle Long, and great grandfather of Grace Gatton. Special friend of Betty Anderson.Preceded in death by his parents Valentine and Stella, brother Harry (Charlotte) and sister Eleanor (Ralph) Geyer.Further survived by nieces, nephews, Special Great Nephew Stan and wife Mary Kochanski and the many friends at Sun Dial Men's Club, American Legion Post and Wooddale Village.Sun City Bowling Hall of Fame Member. Erwin proudly served in the US Marines, HQ, 2nd EngrBN, 2nd Marine Div during WWII in the Pacific.He belonged to the Second Marine Div. Assoc. & American Legion Member for 69 years. Memorial service held June 16 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and burial with full Military Honors.Memorials are appreciated to the School Sisters Of Notre Dame, 13105 Watertown Plank Rd, Elm Grove, WI or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
