EPCOR USA finishes acquisition of Johnson Utilities

Move comes days after state settles claims with Johnson

EPCOR Water Arizona Inc., a subsidiary of EPCOR USA Inc., acquired the assets and operations of troubled Johnson Utilities.

This move makes EPCOR USA the water and wastewater service provider for areas that include Queen Creek, San Tan Valley and Florence.

Regulatory approval for the transfer of ownership was received from the Arizona Corporation Commission on Dec. 22. The financial transaction and transfer of ownership from Johnson Utilities to EPCOR was completed Jan. 29.
