Water continues to be a critical resource that is vanishing and Sun City West residents are seeing water loss happening around the community.
According to David Hunter, Property Owners and Residents Association Water Committee chairman, said Lake Mead has dropped 40 feet in the last two years and Lake Powell has gone down 52 feet over that same time frame. He said both water levels continue to go down and those two lakes are in trouble because the Colorado River is in trouble.
When it comes to local water, Art Nunez, EPCOR Utilities, said the company is going through the annual process of looking at larger projects over the next year, saying there is nothing major or intrusive and most projects are smaller within booster sites.
