Maricopa Community Colleges is seeing double-digit growth heading in the fall 2025 semester, recent numbers show.

There have been 11 consecutive semesters of enrollment gains in the system, according to a MCC release.

College officials said the growth aligns with nationwide trends. Two-year institutions reported a 6% enrollment increase in the fall 2024 semester.

“Community colleges have a reputation for creating accessible pathways to higher education, so it’s no surprise that we are seeing enrollment growth,” Steven R. Gonzales, chancellor of Maricopa Community Colleges, said.

“Often, the issue isn’t that students don’t want to pursue a postsecondary education; it’s whether they can afford to go to college.

“We offer learning opportunities that allow our students to pursue their passions and build meaningful careers,” the chancellor said.

The 10-college system serves more than 140,000 students annually, according to the release.
