Phoenix Rising FC denied chance at league championship after Rowdies' positive tests

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Phoenix Rising FC and the Tampa Bay Rowdies will not face off for the 2020 USL Championship title as scheduled Sunday night.

In fact, the two teams won’t play each other at all.

After multiple members of the Rowdies organization tested positive for coronavirus on Friday and Saturday, USL Championship officials decided to call off the league championship match.
