Email threatened to poison Maricopa County supervisor

The threatening email sent to Maricopa County Supervisor Bill Gates insinuated the public official could be killed by someone slipping poison into his food.

The email — from Nov. 12, 2022 — was allegedly sent from Ryan Stuart Hadland, 44, of Phoenix.

On Tuesday, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced misdemeanor charges were filed against Hadland. He faces charges of using an electronic communication to terrify, intimidate, threaten or harass, said Mayes in a press release.
