Elton Randolph Scott

Elton Randolph Scott, 81, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Sun City, AZ, where he had made his home since 1995. He was born September 2, 1936, in Warren, OH, the son of Clarence Edmond Scott and Laura Jean Dorsey Scott Backus. He was of Baptist faith.He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1959 and began his postal career in the same year. He retired from the Post Office September of 1991. He was an avid golfer.Survivors include his wife, Marlene McPherson Scott, whom he married August 13, 1961; one sister, Greta Backus Monteith (Phoenix, AZ); two brothers, Forrest Backus (Youngstown, OH) and Bruce Backus (Glendale, AZ); nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.Per request, there will be no services. Arrangements were handled by Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary and Cremation Center of Sun City, AZ.
