Sun City West - Elmer W. Kish was born on Aug. 24, 1928, died July 20, 2016 and remained a devoted husband and family man throughout his life. He was the only son among five daughters of Margaret and Paul Kish, who emigrated from Hungary and eventually built a life for their family in northwest Indiana. Elmer grew up in Hammond, Ind., married his beloved wife Adele Larrance in 1951, and lived for 40 years in Munster, Ind. Upon his retirement in 1997, Elmer and Adele moved to Sun City West. Elmer was a loving father and father-in-law to four children and their spouses, Paul (Connie), Cheryl (Mike Pacilio), Nannette (Troy Richardson), and Debra (Stuart Bussey); and grandfather to Katie, Janelle, Amy, Alex, Laurel, Marie, Natalie, Brian, Zachary, Gabrielle, and Ellen. Elmer was generous with affirmation and advice and will be greatly missed by generations. Best loved for his spirit of hospitality and humor, Elmer had many friends and an open door policy for visitors who were entertained by his jokes, his opinions, and his cocktails. He was literally a man of great taste, loving good food and all the honest ways of preparing it and wishing others the same pleasure. Whatever Elmer found to value, he was eager to pass on to those he knew. He spent his life in sales, first in the grocery industry, then for Stanback (a forerunner to modern pain relievers) and later in building and construction. Along with his partner and nephew Jim, Elmer owned and operated Kish and Rauer Plumbing Company in Highland, Ind. where he served with integrity until his retirement. Arizona services have already taken place. An Indiana memorial is planned for later this summer. www.camino delsol.com
