Elementary school in Surprise raises funds for heart health

Canyon Ridge surpasses its previous donations

At just 5 years old, a young student in Surprise has helped inspire an entire school to raise record funds.

Olivia McClain is a kindergartner at Canyon Ridge Elementary, 17359 Surprise Loop Farms North, and was born with supra-ventricular tachycardia, a condition which causes the heart to beat erratically.

At four days old, she went into cardiac arrest.
