The cities of Goodyear and Litchfield Park both held primary elections for mayor and city council this month, though some races were more competitive than others.
Mayors in both cities appeared on their respective ballots uncontested. Both men, Litchfield Park Mayor Thomas Schoaf and Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo, have spent decades in city government.
And both Goodyear and Litchfield Park had three council seats up for election — the seats in Litchfield Park were uncontested, while Goodyear experienced a relatively competitive council race with five names on the ballot.
