There is one month remaining for Sun City West residents to get to know the five candidates running for the Recreation Centers of Sun City West Governing Board.
Five candidates are running for four seats on the board, including incumbents Tim Hurley and Harry Stannebein, and new candidates George Kuchtyak, Jack Leary and Richard ‘Dick’ Rhoades. Stannebein and Hurley are currently filling unfinished terms created by earlier vacancies. The candidates will replace director vacancies for those terms ending Thursday, June 30, including Sue Fitzsimons, Jim Sloan, Hurley and Stannebein.
Online voting begins Monday, March 21 and runs through Thursday, March 24. Owner members in good standing and with an email on file by March 16 will be eligible. Election day is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, March 28 in the Data Resource Center at the R.H. Johnson Library, 13801 W. Meeker Blvd. Homebound voting is available to any owner members unable to visit the polls March 28 and those needing assistance with voting early can call Karen Roepken at 623-544-6115. Requests must be made between 8 a.m. Monday, March 21 and 3 p.m. Thursday, March 24.
