ACCIDENT

Elderly woman killed in hit-and-run accident in west Phoenix

An 83-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident late Wednesday in west Phoenix, Phoenix Police said Thursday in a release.

Officers responded about 9:50 p.m. May 27 to the area of 3900 West McDowell Road regarding a collision involving a pedestrian, according to the release.

When officers arrived, they found 83‑year‑old Kang Dixon unresponsive. The Phoenix Fire Department transported Dixon to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical staff. Next of kin have been notified.
