El Mirage Road widening going to design phase

Project to improve stretch from Loop 303 to Jomax

Plans to extend El Mirage Road from Loop 303 to Jomax Road are advancing following more than a year of environmental and engineering studies.

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in coordination with the city of Peoria, Maricopa Association of Governments and Maricopa County, released the final environmental assessment with a finding of no significant impact, and the final design concept report for the El Mirage Road: Loop 303 to Jomax Road Study.

Project elements include extending and widening El Mirage from Loop 303 to Jomax, constructing bridge crossings over McMicken Wash and the Beardsley Canal and adding signalized intersections at El Mirage and Happy Valley and Jomax roads and improving other El Mirage cross-street intersections between Loop 303 and Jomax.
