El Mirage celebrates El Grito, Independencia and city’s 75th anniversary

For the first time in the city of El Mirage’s history, an El Grito de Dolores ceremony was held, drawing a crowd of all ages to the El Mirage City Hall Plaza, 10000 N. El Mirage Road.

This year, the city is also celebrating its 75th anniversary while commemorating its heritage and traditions that helped shape the community.

Representatives from the Consulate of Mexico in Phoenix were among attendees at the Sept. 15 celebration, which featured music in the City Hall Courtyard and the Cachito Dance Project Performance. Deputy Consul Armando Manuel Esparza Miranda led the official El Grito ceremony.
