Education, health care show growth in AZ

Any potential recession on the Valley’s horizon might not be very rocky, according to a senior Wells Fargo economist.

A slowing labor market and slumping manufacturing demand are some reasons the economy could be headed toward a recession, said Economist Tim Quinlan on Thursday.

The good news is that Arizona has fared “extraordinarily well” in its job recovery compared to national tends with an unemployment rate that has “significantly narrowed” in recent months, the economist said.
