MESA - Edith Helene (Hofer) Lambeth, passed away October 1, 2015 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 88 after a long illness. A close family memorial service will be held later this year. Edith was born to Maximillian and Getrude Hofer on March 6, 1926 in Konigsberg, East Prussia. The eldest of five living children, Edith immigrated to the U.S in 1952 and married SSgt. Benson Lambeth in Emporia, Kansas. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Benson; life partner, Howard Karre; sister, Trauti (Getrude) Smith; brother, Max Hofer; daughter, Sylvia Stiennagel; and son, Benson Lambeth Jr. Edith is survived by her brother, Siegfred Hofer; sister, Brigitte Kossack; daughter, Linda (Roy) Murray; grandchildren, Shawn Lambeth, Michael Mihoover, Avery Murray, Kincaid Murray, Kevin Stiennagel, Krystal Fields; and great grandchildren, Kyle Cooley, Nicole Correia, Darwin and Aria Murray, Wesley Fields, Sophie Mihoover; and her many neices and nephews. Edith was always there and supportive of her family and will be greatly missed for her practical nature, wonderful sense of humour, positive disposition, and someone who was always looking to see the better side.
