Economics seems to play bigger role than conservation in Sun City West water

Committee focuses on future

Water usage around the Sun Cities areas continues to climb with the addition of home developments.

According to David Hunter, Sun City West PORA Water Committee chairman, said there is plenty of water now, but looking ahead 40 years, that may not be the case.

He said taking a look at the water level at Lake Mead in Nevada, it is about nine feet below the water level the year prior. Looking ahead, the hope is that number will come up a little with the snow melt and typical winter and summer storms.
