Gilbert motorists can expect delays and traffic for upcoming roadwork for the Loop 202-Santan Freeway, Loop 101 to Val Vista Drive widening project.
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the eastbound Loop 202-Santan Freeway on-ramp at Cooper Road to be closed beginning at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction as part of the Loop 202-Santan Freeway widening project.
Drivers may consider using the eastbound on-ramps at McQueen or Gilbert roads as a detour.
Upcoming 60-day ramp closures:
- The eastbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Gilbert Road to be closed for 60 days beginning Tuesday, Jan. 21;
- The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Gilbert Road to be closed for 60 days beginning Sunday, Feb. 9;
- The westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Cooper Road to be closed for 60 days beginningWednesday, Feb. 26;
- The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Val Vista Drive to be closed for 60 days beginning Thursday, March 13.
Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
Speed limits are reduced to 55 miles per hour in work zones for the safety of motorists and workers. Motorists are advised to slow down, stay alert and be prepared to merge with caution when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
