East Valley trio bringing swinging rockabilly to Phoenix

The Shake Bombs to celebrate new album release at Rhythm Room

Not that there’s anything wrong with Christmas music, but after weeks of ringing in the season it’s OK to want to turn up the volume on something new.

East Valley-based trio The Shake Bombs will shake The Rhythm Room in Phoenix this week for a CD release party celebrating their new album “Doing It Wrong.” Everything gets going at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27 at the legendary Room, located at 1019 E. Indian School Road.

The rockabilly trio of James Ward (drums and vocals), Mark Miller (bass) and Todd Baio (guitar and vocals) have been together just over a year but they already have a sound that is tight tight tight, as evidenced by “Baby Coffee,” a cut off the new album, which doesn’t have a wasted moment over two minutes and 10 swinging seconds of interplay between all three players.
