East Valley town set for first payment on $244M Harquahala water deal

Queen Creek has concluded its sale of certificates of participation and is ready to make its first payment on a $244.4 million deal to purchase 1.2 million acre-feet of Harquahala water.

During the Queen Creek Town Council meeting on Jan. 22, Deputy Town Manager and Chief Financial Officer Scott McCarty announced the sale took place on Jan. 15.
