East Valley man indicted in crash that killed motorcyclist

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced April 6 that Gustavo Gavia Elias has been indicted for allegedly striking and killing a motorcyclist with his sport utility vehicle.

The collision happened in the westbound lanes of Ray Road, near Alma School Road, in Chandler on the evening of March 18, according to a news release.

Gavia Elias, 29, of Chandler, is accused of intentionally hitting a motorcycle while driving under the influence, resulting in the rider's death, the release states.
