The Higley Unified School District Governing Board unanimously approved its annual financial report Oct. 13, revealing how declining enrollment, a shrinking budget override and costly air-conditioning problems are affecting district finances.
The report covers fiscal year 2026, which ended June 30, and documents more than $173 million in expenditures across all district funds, down from approximately $175 million the previous year.
Chief Financial Officer Sharon Rushcamp presented the report, which showed that the district maintained much of its spending on classroom instruction while confronting the growing costs of maintaining aging facilities with fewer resources.
