Two parents spoke at Chandler Unified’s Governing Board July 8 meeting on the same topic: getting their children to class.
The parents were both upset about the timing of a recent announcement to parents that transportation won’t be provided this year to the estimated 250 Chandler Unified high school students who planned to commute to one of the East Valley Institute of Technology’s Mesa campuses for half-days of instruction.
The district had an intergovernmental agreement with EVIT that has expired and has been tied up as part of a court battle over funding.
