Ann O’Brien and Yassamin Ansari are leading in Phoenix’s two city council races without an incumbent, according to unofficial early results from the county recorders’ office. Incumbents are leading in the other two city council races and in the mayoral race, where Mayor Kate Gallego is cruising to re-election.
All Phoenix city council and mayoral seats are nonpartisan.
Ms. O’Brien leads Dave Siebert 53% to 46% in District 1, where incumbent and former mayor Thelda Williams is not running for reelection because of term limits.
