Students in the Dysart Unified School District need help, and district officials are calling on members of the community.
Education surrogate parents act as parents in making special education decisions for children and represents the child in every step of the special education process.
This includes anything related to the identification, evaluation, and the educational placement of the child. The surrogate parent actively participates in the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team and Individualized Education Program meetings, as well as works with the child’s school to ensure a free appropriate public education.
