Dysart district faces transportation challenges in COVID era

Options weighed for aging fleet

In school districts across Arizona, the transportation departments are continually faced with challenges.

For the Dysart Unified School District a fleet of 200 vehicles must be maintained, including school and activity buses, facilities, food service and community eduction vehicles. More 6,600 student are transported to and from school with the operation of 87 daily routes.

This year, the number of riders has been reduced by about 300 due to social distancing guidelines.
