Dysart Community Center turns 60 by serving

Facilities fill in gaps in old town El Mirage, Surprise

Rather than large celebrations for its 60th anniversary, the Dysart Community Center in El Mirage marked 2022 by returning to its roots.

Executive Director Annie Ansell said the most formal celebration hearkened back to the community center’s 1962 beginnings as a vaccine clinic for migrant farm workers living in El Mirage and Surprise.

“We celebrated our anniversary with a vaccine clinic for the community. So we came full circle,” Ansell said.
